DEVOLVED Issue Official Statement Regarding Vocalist Departure

July 23, 2002

Australia's DEVOLVED have issued a statement explaining the recent departure of vocalist Nik Carpenter and outlining the group's future plans. It reads as follows:

"Nik Carpenter has been officially fired as lead vocalist for devolved. Due to musical and creative differences, Nik was asked to leave the band and will take no further part in the future of DEVOLVED. This decision was made to ensure DEVOLVED will continue to progress with their chaotic and intense tech-metal. At this stage, DEVOLVED will continue to write and tour as a four-piece with guitarist Brett Noordin (who was the band's original vocalist) performing all the lead vocal duties. Auditions will soon be scheduled for a full-time replacement, if required. People interested in auditioning should contact [email protected] with their details, including any previous experience and long term musical ambitions.

"A DEVOLVED Australian tour has been announced to coincide with the recent release of the Automation 001 EP. The band will tour the country throughout September/October. Also appearing on the tour will be very special guests from Japan, SUNS OWL, who will be supporting DEVOLVED on all dates.

"The new DEVOLVED EP Automation 001 has now been officially released Australia-wide. The release date for the EP was re-scheduled due to the band's international touring commitments. Automation 001 is already receiving rave reviews from the media and is now available from all music stores across the country. Anyone wanting to order the CD direct can contact [email protected] or [email protected]."
